Officer Harry Wise was killed in a vehicular on his police motorcycle.

On February 15, 1925, Officer Wise was riding his police motorcycle on St. Louis Avenue approaching Union Boulevard at 3:30 pm, when he fell from his motorcycle and suffered a skull fracture. It is believed that Officer Wise suffered a uremic convulsion, which lead to the accident as witnesses to the accident observed Officer Wise riding normally suddenly throw his hands up and fall backwards off of the motorcycle. He died 48 days later on April 4th, at 1 pm, of resulting pneumonia.

Officer Wise had been with the agency for two years and was survived by his wife and child. Interred: Wolf Creek Cemetery, Eldorado, IL.
