On February 21, 1970, Trooper Snodgrass was killed in a single-car automobile accident 7 miles east of Salem on MO-32 in Dent County when his vehicle left the roadway as he rounded a curve.

Trooper Snodgrass joined the Patrol in June 1969. He was survived by his wife and son. Interred: Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, MO.
