Marshal L. N. Crisman was accidentally shot and killed by someone who was shooting at another person and accidentally struck the marshal.
On March 19, 1890, Marshal Crisman was shot and killed accidentally by a boarding house keeper, O.C. Atkinson, who was shooting at a tenant that he had just thrown out. The boarding house keeper had evicted a man earlier for being disorderly. The man returned and Marshal Crisman was attracted by the disturbance. The boarding house keeper fired a shot at the man he had evicted, Henry Ranke, but accidentally struck Marshal Crisman who had just arrived on the scene.
He died at 5:00 am the following morning. |
