Sergeant Richard Siebenman was killed when his patrol car was struck by a speeding vehicle.

On October 2, 1980, Sergeant Richard Siebenman was on routine patrol driving west of Loughborough when he was struck by a car traveling north on Minnesota. Just prior to striking Sergeant Siebenman's patrol car the striking car collided with a parked car and two mailboxes.

Sergeant Siebenman was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital.

Sergeant Richard B. Siebenman was commissioned as a Police Officer on 02/03/1958 and entered the academy for the Saint Louis Police Department. After the academy he held the following assignments during his career. They were the 7th, 3rd, Office of the Chief of Police, and the Intelligence Division. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on 08/13/1974 and sent to the 3rd District, followed an assignment in the Correspondence Investigation Division (C.I.D.). During his career he was awarded 3 Chief Letters of Commendation on 06/07/1961, 02/20/1974, and 04/25/1975 for police work above and beyond the call of duty. He was survived by his wife, two children, and four grandchildren.
