Corporal Charles Voracek died from injuries sustained when his patrol car was struck by another car.

On August, 17, 1952, Corporal Voracek and his partner, Officer Joseph Novak, were responding to an officer needs assistance call with lights and siren when a vehicle struck their patrol car at Choteau and Jefferson, knocking it into an electric light standard then into a viaduct approach. Officer Voracek suffered fractures of the neck, leg and three ribs. He died from his injuries 11 days later, on August 28th. The driver of the other vehicle was charged with several crimes in connection with the accident.

Corporal Voracek had been with the agency for 22 years and was survived by his wife, Esther, and son. Interred: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
