Probationary Officer Frank Reese was killed when his police motorcycle was struck by a vehicle driven by Lorcias Moses at 4:00 pm at the intersection of Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue. A vehicle turned left, striking Officer Reese, causing him to suffer a skull fracture. He was taken to St. John's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 7:30 pm of a fractured skull and a broken right arm. Moses failed to effect a proper left turn from Lindell onto DeBaliviere Avenue, cutting the corner and striking Officer Reese. A coronor's inquest ordered Moses held for criminal carelessness.

Officer Reese had been with the agency for five months joining May 28, 1920. He was survived by his wife, Regina. Interred: Calvary Cemetery, St Louis, MO.
