Officer Brink was killed when his police motorcycle collided with a truck at 40th and Flora. Officer Brink was traveling eastbound on 40th Street when the the 5 ton loaded dirt truck ran over Officer Brink after he was thrown from his bike attempting to avoid the collision and died of a skull fracture at the scene. A coroner's grand jury found no fault in the accident that took the life of Officer Brink. He was interred at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Officer Brink, 26, had been with the agency since June 1, 1921. He was promoted to Acting Sergeant the previous day.
Interred: Noland Cemetery, Weatherby Lake, MO.
