Chief Paul Fricke was driving in his patrol vehicle when he was killed in an auto accident.

On October 27, 2010 at approximately 10:10 am, Chief Fricke was driving in his patrol car on Highway 47, near Highway U when he was involved in an vehicle accident. It is believed that Chief Fricke's patrol car went off the right side of the roadway, and that he over-corrected, causing his patrol vehicle to cross the highway and strike a utility pole on the left side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chief Fricke served as Hawk Point's part-time police chief and also served as a full time deputy sheriff with the Warren County Sheriff's Office. He joined the Warren County Sheriff's Department in 2005, the same year he became police chief in Hawk Point. He previously served in the US Air Force during the Persian Gulf War. Interred: Asbury Cemetery, Foley, Missouri.
