Sheriff Andrew Clark was killed in a vehicle accident while responding on a call.

On June 3, 2020 at 11:30 am, Sheriff Andrew "Andy" Clark was killed in a vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 36 and M Highway, near Osborn, while responding to assist a deputy in an emergency. Sheriff Clark's vehicle was southbound on State Highway M crossing over to eastbound Highway 36 near Osborn, Missouri when his vehicle was struck in the passenger side by an SUV. Sheriff Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Sheriff Clark served in law enforcement for 22 years both in the Dekalb County Sheriff's Department and the Cameron Police Department. He had also served as an emergency medical technician and a volunteer firefighter. He also worked as an agent for Shelter Insurance for many years. He was survived by his wife and four children. Interred: Oak Cemetery, 8875 West Highway 6 Amity, MO.
